Santiago “Santi” Aldama is a professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment through sport. Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, Santi’s journey from the courts of his hometown to the global stage of the NBA is a powerful example of dedication, resilience, and belief in the transformative power of opportunity.

After emerging as one of the top talents at Loyola University Maryland and earning All-Patriot League honors, Santi was selected as the 30th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Since joining the NBA, he has continued to grow as both a player and a leader, representing Spain and inspiring young athletes around the world.

Off the court, Santi is deeply committed to giving back. Every summer, he returns to Gran Canaria to host his annual youth basketball camp—a hands-on, immersive experience where he trains, mentors, and connects with aspiring players. More than just a camp, it’s a space that promotes confidence, teamwork, and personal growth, using basketball as a tool for positive change.

With his unique blend of international experience, athletic excellence, and heartfelt commitment to service, Santi Aldama is using his platform and role on the NBPA Foundaiton board to ensure that the next generation of professional basketball players can have a sustainable impact in their communities.
