Kathryn Than

Program Director

Kathryn Than has been a member of the NBPA Foundation team since December 2019. As Program Director, she is responsible for programs to support player philanthropy and their development. She also oversees the foundation’s grant portfolio.

Kathryn joined the Foundation after serving as an Associate at Arabella Advisors, a philanthropic consulting firm for foundations and corporations.  There she served as a philanthropic advisor for individuals and families, which included work to curate and manage grant-making portfolios, refine philanthropic strategies, and manage relationships with range of corporations, philanthropists, community organizations, and nonprofits.  Among her accomplishments at Arabella, Kathryn designed a strategic framework for a mental health-focused funder, resulting in an actionable grant-making strategy to deploy over $5 million in funding internationally.

Kathryn is a native Californian, and she is a graduate of UCLA. She also serves as the Co-Chair for PEAK Grantmaking’s Northeast Chapter’s Membership Committee and the Treasurer for the Breakout Foundation.
